Don't know if that would be feasible with 3 kids and Katie was a bit of a handful this week but just an idea.Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03907853833016928860noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38609654016895220.post-6231488645524906792010-06-10T08:29:46.815-07:002010-06-10T08:29:46.815-07:00Hey sis - mom and dad just pretty much let us run ...Hey sis - mom and dad just pretty much let us run free all summer - but we lived where it was safe to do that ... I'm starting to figure out the same thing - so Joshua and I don't go stir crazy this summer - I'm getting an annual pass to the new aquarium and we'll be hitting museums etc as well as playdates and playing in the sprinkler in the backyard. It is harder now cuz of the heat and the busy cities we live in ...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38609654016895220.post-67450986722918671712010-06-09T14:28:45.259-07:002010-06-09T14:28:45.259-07:00This is one of the things I hate about Vegas - it ...This is one of the things I hate about Vegas - it is too darned hot to just turn the kids out in the backyard like my parents used to do when I was a kid LOL. So much indoor time...thank goodness J still goes to preschool 3 days a week during the summer.DesiDVMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06839770682572043744noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38609654016895220.post-12114719597779623202010-06-08T23:37:43.255-07:002010-06-08T23:37:43.255-07:00Heidi - we live in a similar climate in the that t...Heidi - we live in a similar climate in the that the summer is DRY and HOT, HOT, HOT! I too am going to put together a schedule of sorts - just a routine to follow on the the days we will be home so I don't pull all my hair out. The activities I am going to include are very similar to yours. I was thinking of doing something like - outdoor time (must be first thing in the morning), workbook time, free play, arts/crafts (coloring, play-doh, beads, cutting and gluing, etc.), lunch, board game, pool time, reading time, dance and sing party, dinner prep, dinner, bath, books, bed. I don't like to call it a schedule so much as a loose routine because the kids and I do so much better if we all know what comes next throughout our day. Also there must be TONS of flexibility in the routine because of day trips, special activities and playdates. I mean after all it is summer BREAK! Good luck!JenFenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00493316600660598957noreply@blogger.com
